About Victoria
I’ve always worked hard but I haven’t always worked well.
I’m a farm girl from Illinois, a competitive gymnast in my adolescence, and at the age of nineteen I’d transitioned to New York City to begin a career in fashion. The exterior was convincing, but the camera wasn’t capturing the whole story.
I was struggling severely with obsessive-compulsive disorder, debilitating anxiety & depression, and post traumatic stress. After exhausting every remedy imaginable, there was one remaining possibility — instead of looking externally to neutralize the pain, what about looking inward? What would happen if I got curious about the neuroses? What would I find if I dug deeper instead of trying to bury the problem?
This invitation to look at the discomfort, to get curious about the pain & simply observe its presence, required a degree of awareness, patience, and self-compassion that I hadn’t yet developed. Enter: Meditation.
To be frank, I was pretty terrible at just about everything involving concentration, patience, and self-acceptance. I didn’t want to be distracted or depressed or anxious or compulsive. I didn’t want to be struggling. I didn’t want to admit that there was anything ‘different’ about my mind. It wasn’t until I finally allowed myself to feel the truth of my experience without judgment that I realized (somewhat ironically) that my mind wasn’t quite as ‘abnormal’ as I’d imagined it to be. While my story may have a few unique layers, it’s the struggle of human experience that binds us most deeply.
Recognizing this common struggle has been my greatest motivator in sharing what I’ve learned. From the obsessive-compulsive, trauma-ridden, anxious mind of a depressed 20-year-old, to the stable, accepting, introspective, entrepreneurial mind of this 30-something teacher, I say with absolute certainty that whatever you’re dealing with, there is a way out.
If you want to accomplish more, you can. If you want to stress less, you will. If you want to be happier and alter your mind and life entirely, it is well within your reach.
I created WellspringMind as a collaborative resource to nourish the vibrancy of human experience amidst the demanding reality of corporate enterprise. I am a motivator, an encouragement, and a guide to foster mental flourishing and cultivate genuine happiness, no matter the environment.
Ultimately, I’m here to guide you to your wellspring. You’re here to thrive in it.
